Black Hills Gymnastics: Building Skills, Confidence & Community

Since 1996, Black Hills Gymnastics has been a part of the Lacey community, helping children of all ages and skill levels discover the benefits of gymnastics, movement and an active lifestyle.
Located in Lacey, Black Hills Gymnastics offers a wide variety of recreational, preschool, competitive and specialty programs designed to give children opportunities to learn, grow and build confidence. From toddlers taking their first steps into gymnastics to athletes preparing for competition, the gym provides programs that meet children where they are and help them develop at their own pace.
For the youngest gymnasts, Tod Fit serves children ages 18 months to 3 years with active parent participation, focusing on early motor skills and coordination. Preschool programs introduce young children to movement and body awareness, while the Black Hills Early Learning Academy combines education, art, science and physical fitness with gymnastics for children ages 3 and up.
As children progress, families can choose from recreational girls’ and boys’ gymnastics, Ninja classes for boys and girls of all ages, Kinder classes, Mighty Mini and Mighty Monster programs, Team Prep and Xcel Team. Team Prep provides a pathway for athletes who want to pursue competitive gymnastics, with athletes typically spending one to two years developing their skills before transitioning to a competitive team.

The gym’s competitive program has also achieved success at the state and national levels. During one recent season, eight Black Hills athletes became all-around state champions across vault, bars, beam and floor, while 31 athletes placed in the top three all-around at the Washington State Championships. Black Hills gymnasts have also advanced to regional and national competitions, collegiate gymnastics and high-level developmental opportunities.

Beyond gymnastics classes, Black Hills offers activities that bring families and the community together throughout the year, including summer, winter and spring camps, Friday night open gyms and Parents Night Out events.
Whether a child is learning their first forward roll, preparing for competition or simply looking for a fun way to stay active, Black Hills Gymnastics offers a place to learn new skills, make friends and build confidence.
